OREANDA-NEWS. November 21, 2011. Belarusian foreign trade deficit amounted to U.S. USD 1.898 billion in January-September 2011, compared to USD 4.36 billion in January-September 2010, shrinking by 56.5%, according to the website of the National Bank of Belarus.

Overall turnover of commodities and services reached USD 68.891 billion in January-September 2011, up 48.9% on the year.

Exports of commodities and services rose 59.9% to USD 33.497 billion, and imports increased 39.8% to USD 35.394 billion.

Commodity trade deficit reached USD 3.462 billion in January-September 2011 (USD 29.618 billion of exports, 67.8% on the year, and USD 33.079 billion of imports, up 42.3%), and service trade surplus amounted to USD 1.564 billion (USD 3.879 billion of exports, up 17.7%, and USD 2.315 million of imports, up 11.8%).
