OREANDA-NEWS. November 30, 2011. Rosmorport has appealed to the Federal Tariff Service of Russia (FTS) with a request to adjust icebreaker service charges and other icebreaker port dues by 5%, Rosmorport’s head said at a briefing organized by PortNews. According to Andrei Lavrishchev port charges have not been updated since 2008.

Deputy Transport Minister Viktor Olersky noted that Rosmorport will cover its expenses for icebreakers maintenance and operation not through the charges growth but through increasing the number of ship calls.

Rosmorport plans to deploy in the Gulf of Finland seven icebreakers, including a nuclear-powered one, for the 2011-2012 winter navigation period. The nuclear-powered icebreaker 50 Years of Victory has been time-chartered by Rosmorport for 100 days. The vessel will arrive in St. Petersburg next by the end of January 2012.
