OREANDA-NEWS. December 23, 2011. The Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Mykola Prysyazhnyuk and the Minister of Agriculture of Turkey Mehmet Mehdi Eker have signed the Agreements between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the Republic of Turkey on cooperation in the area of quarantine  and plant protection, and fishing industry.

According to Mykola Prysyazhnyuk, the Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the Republic of Turkey on cooperation in the area of quarantine  and plant protection will ensure the mutual exchange of information, documentation, results of the achievements on issues of phytosanitary as technical and strategic level, will strengthen the comprehensive cooperation between countries in the area of quarantine and plant protection products on the principles of sovereign equality and mutual respect.

However, according to the Minister, the Agreement on cooperation in fishing industry will allow legalize and to enhance cooperation between States in the field of aquaculture.

"Strengthening cooperation between the countries by this agreement will facilitate the development of fishing industry infrastructure, particularly in the Black Sea, carrying out joint research with the assessment of living resources and natural life in the Black Sea," the Head of MAP added. To realize these objectives, it will be specifically established a joint committee of fishing industry, whose function is specification of areas of cooperation, the implementation of measures to resolve disputes that may arise during cooperation.
