Sitronics Donates MIEE Solution to Development Centre for Children
OREANDA-NEWS. December 30, 2011. SITRONICS (LSE:SITR), a leading provider of telecommunications, IT and microelectronics solutions in Russia and the CIS, donated the Universal Interactive Classroom, which is a component of the Multi-service Information and Educational Environment (MIEE), to Markhamat Educational Charity Foundation's Development Centre for Children with Special Needs. MIEE is already helping children with musculoskeletal disorders, hearing impairments, vision impairments and speech disorders, as well as children with congenital psychosomatic illnesses, to learn more effectively and perceive the world better.
The Universal Interactive Classroom is a full-size interactive whiteboard with a set of electronic tools and resources to give lessons. Teachers use them to create notes, drawings, diagrams and 3D images of any object, which can be moved in any direction, rotated in any dimension, increased or reduced in size, etc. You can manage objects on the whiteboard with not only with a stylus, but also with your fingers. This allows you to apply education technology based on tactile sensations and to develop children's sensorimotor reactions, which is of particular importance for the Centre. With the acoustic system embedded in the electronic whiteboard, it is possible to use audio resources and music applications for the general enrichment of children with vision impairments or speech disorders.
The solution also includes a quick-test system for conducting various polls and tests and getting real-time feedback. Thanks to this system, the teacher can assess pupils' achievements quickly and effectively. When applied regularly, this technology contributes to the quality of education.
The comprehensive Universal Interactive Classroom solution by SITRONICS fully meets the requirements of the Development Centre for Children with Special Needs and makes it possible to include educational institutions sponsored by the Markhamat Foundation in a single MIEE network in the future. SITRONICS experts delivered, installed and configured the solution, conducted training sessions for teachers and gave a presentation to the Makharmat Foundation's management. SITRONICS will support the use of the Interactive Classroom solution in the Centre's teaching process in terms of technology and techniques.
