OREANDA-NEWS. February 02, 2012. As a result of reforms carried out in the country, the material-technical base of the National Airline Uzbekistan Airways is strengthened.

It can be seen on the example of the airport Bukhara, which has international status.

As a result of measures undertaken to strengthen the material-technical base of the airport, flight safety, opening new areas to improve quality and efficiency, the number of flights on domestic and international destinations is increased.

A striking example is the well-established air service between St.Petersburg – Bukhara – St.Petersburg.

“Our airport is part of the national airline of Uzbekistan,” said the airport director Tohir Bahronov. “It is able to send and receive such modern aircrafts like Boeing 757, Boeing 767, A-320 and Il-114-100, Rj-85. Aircraft maintenance and servicing of passengers carried on a high level.”

A special attention paid to the improvement of the professional skills and qualifications of workers and specialists among staff of the airport plays an important role in it.

In 2011, the airport served for nearly 102,000 passengers, which is made up 107 percent compared to 2010.

The airport Bukhara gets international recognition and appreciation due to its high potential.

In 2008 and 2010, Airport of Bukhara city won in the nomination of “Year’s Best Airport in the CIS” at the competitions held by the International Association of Civil Aviation Airport.

And in 2009, it was awarded as the steadily growing airport at the same competition.

Last year, a new modern air terminal of Bukhara international airport has been commissioned according to the President’s resolution “On the acceleration of infrastructure development, transport and communications construction in 2011-2015” of 21 December 2010.

It is capable of handling 400 passengers per hour – three times more than the previous one. There are all the necessary conditions to meet international requirements.
