The Ukrainian equity universe had a strong day on Tuesday, with Poland’s WIG-Ukraine index gaining 2.7% and the local UX advancing 2.2%. In London, the best performers were Avangard (AVGR LI) +5.7% and MHP (MHPC LI) +5.2% on strong volumes. In Poland, Westa (WES PW) had a phenomenal day, soaring up 12.3%, while KSG Agro (KSG PW) +4.6% and Agroton (AGT PW) +4.1% also moved up significantly. On the local UX, all but two blue chips moved higher, with two of the biggest advances from electricity generators Centrenergo (CEEN UK) +5.7% and Donbasenergo (DOEN UK) +8.7% on news controlling stakes in each company could be privatized by the end of 1H12.
