OREANDA-NEWS.  February 3, 2012. The decision on the transfer of the Samara River Port facilities has not yet been made, the Samara regional government said, commenting on media reports about possible port relocation. However, the authorities could not clarify when the final decision will be made.

Samara river port is located at the confluence of the Volga and Samara Rivers. The geographical position of the port, which borders with a network of railways and highways, enables cost-effective transport links to the Urals, Siberia, Central Asia, the areas of the Centre and North of European Russia. The port also has access to the Volga-Kama and the Volga-Don basin, Baltic, White, Azov, Black, Caspian and Mediterranean seas. The port is a major transportation hub in the Middle Volga region of Russia.
