OREANDA-NEWS. February 08, 2012. IBA Group participated in the 9th Minsk Startup Weekend Belarus as the event’s general partner, reported the press-centre of IBA.

Minsk Startup Weekend is a series of events aimed at facilitating the implementation of innovative and high-tech business projects (startups), and attracting investments to them. The events take place during weekends four times a year.

During the first day, the authors of IT projects presented their startups to experts and potential customers. During the second day, the teams fine-tuned the submitted projects with the help of experts and taking into account recommendations of the investors.

In addition to the submitted projects, any of the participants could present his/her business idea. The experts selected the most promising ideas and rendered assistance in creating the teams able to develop their concepts, business plans, and prototypes. The most advanced teams received awards and support for the implementation of their projects.

At the event, Vitali Nikulenka, IBA Deputy Director for Business Development, held the master class “Goal setting. Personal and financial growth”.

Nikulenka comments: “IBA Group supports innovative ideas and projects both inside the company and throughout the IT industry. I am sure that any development is impossible without innovation, neither development of new products, improvement of their quality, nor technological advancement or introduction of new services.”

“As for the IT industry that is recently on the fast track, I consider it necessary to discard everything that is obsolete and blocks the progress. An IT company wishing to be successful today should make the most of innovation which in its turn requires knowledge, talent, ingenuity, not to mention enormous commitment and efficiency. To this end, a company requires proactive and creative employees. Minsk Startup Weekend features that kind of participants: active, motivated, daring, and creative. The authors of startups receive support, implement their ideas, and attract people to work on the project.”

“As an IBA representative, I believe the event offers an excellent opportunity to look for prospective teams for possible cooperation.”
