OREANDA-NEWS. February 8, 2012. Uzbekistan will record one of the highest economic growth rates in the Commonwealth of Impendent States (CIS) in 2012 and 2013, according to the UN report World Economic Situation and Prospects 2012 (WESP).

In line with the forecast of the UN experts, the growth of real gross domestic product (GDP) of Uzbekistan will make 7% in 2012. Uzbekistan’s economy will also grow by 7% in 2013.

The UN said that Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan will register the highest GDP growth among the CIS states. Turkmenistan will also record 7% GDP growth both in 2012 and 2013.

According to the Uzbek President Islam Karimov, Uzbekistan posted 8.3% GDP growth in 2011. The Government of Uzbekistan expects that the GDP of the country will increase by 8.2% in 2012.
