OREANDA-NEWS. February 09, 2012. State joint stock company Uzbekenergo will start construction of energy supply objects of Dehkanabad potash fertilizers plant in the second quarter of 2012 in Kashkadaryo region.

The agency said that the company developed feasibility study of the project on expanding electricity supply system of potash fertilizers plant, which envisages construction of two transformer sub-stations with the capacity of 125,000 kilovolt-amperes with two high-voltage lines of 220 kilowatt with extansion of 74 km and 110 kilowatt for 32 km. The project will be implemented within two years.

The project will be financed due to own resources of Uzbekenego for US.5 million and loan of the Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan – US million.

Expansion of energy supply system of Dehkanabad potash fertilizers plant is connected with the project on construction of the second line of the plant.

The second line of Dehkanabad potash fertilizers plant with the cost of US4.5 million envisages expanding production capacities by three times to 600,000 potash fertilizers a year, of which 350,000 tonnes will be exported. The project will be implemented in four year. Construction works started at the end of 2011.

In 2011, Russia’s Zapadno-Ural Machinery-Construction Concern (ZUMK) signed a contract with Uzkimyosanoat on expanding capacities of mining complex with the cost of US8 million, while China’s CITIC Ltd inked an agreement with Uzkimyosanoat to expand enrichment complex for US0 million.

Dehkanabad Plant on Production of Potash Fertilizers has been commissioned in July 2010. The project capacity of the plant is 200,000 tonnes of product a year. The project cost was US3.7 million.
