OREANDA-NEWS. February 14, 2012. Tata Chemicals (TCL) won the prestigious CII-ITC Sustainability Trophy at the CII-ITC annual Sustainability Awards 2011. The awards were announced during a formal presentation ceremony on February 10, 2012, at New Delhi in the presence of dignitaries from government and industry.

TCL-Babrala plant won ‘CII-ITC Sustainability Trophy’ for exemplary policies, practices and results. DK Sundar, senior vice president, marketing, fertilisers, Tata Chemicals, received the award on behalf of the Babrala unit. This trophy is being presented for the first time since the launch of the CII-ITC Sustainability Award.

TCL-Mithapur plant won the ‘commendation certificate for significant achievement’ for independent units.

Speaking on the achievement, said Mr Sundar, All TCL manufacturing sites have demonstrated a sustainable performance in achieving targets on their energy, water and inclusivity dimensions and are becoming benchmark on their environmental and safety performance. I am happy that our businesses are focused on sustainable manufacturing and the efforts are getting recognised by CII.
