OREANDA-NEWS. February 14, 2012. Belarus-based OAO Gomel Chemical Plant is holding an open tender to choose a contractor to build an NPK-fertilizer mill worth USD 98 million, the company said in a release. NPK is combination of different concentrations of nitrogen, phosphor and potassium.

The deadline for tender applications in April 26, 2012. Back in 2010 Gomel Chemical Plant announced a t er to build USD 85m NPK-fertilizer mill, failing to find any contractor.

As previously reported, OAO Belaruskali plans to commission an NPK-fertilizer plant by December 2012.

The new facility to produce 240,000 tonnes of granulated NPK fertilizer a year will cater both for domestic and foreign markets.

The new facility will claim Br 108.7 billion in investments (USD 20 million at the NBB exchange rate).

Belaruskali commissioned a NPK dry bl ing facility in February 2011 to produce 100,000 tonnes a year.

The state-owned Belarusian company OAO Belaruskali is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of potash fertilizers, employing about 20,000 personnel. It operates the Starobinskoye potash salts deposit and comprises four mine groups, auxiliary shops and support units.

Belaruskali controls 16% of the world’s potash fertilizer market.
