OREANDA-NEWS. February 16, 2012. Kaspersky Lab introduced its latest security solution for businesses. Kaspersky Security for Virtualization, announced at the VMware Partner Conference in Las Vegas, is designed to help companies reap the many benefits of virtualization without facing any of the security risks. Kaspersky Security for Virtualization, which integrates seamlessly with VMware’s vShield Endpoint, will provide virtual IT infrastructures with centralised anti-malware security featuring Kaspersky Lab’s award-winning technology. The new product’s European launch will take place at CeBIT in Hannover on 6 March 2012.

The launch of Kaspersky Security for Virtualization follows the highly successful introduction of Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 in October 2011. It means that Kaspersky Lab will be able to offer customers a single, unified management and security platform across their entire virtual, physical and mobile environments. Combined with Kaspersky Lab’s sophisticated anti-malware protection, this unified approach will provide users with an unrivalled mix of easy administration and next-generation protection. More information about the portfolio can be found at: http://www.kaspersky.com/beready.

Using the vShield Endpoint Security framework, the centrally managed Kaspersky Security for Virtualization will automatically detect, scan, protect and update every virtual machine on the network, including virtual data centres, servers and desktops. New machines will be protected automatically when they are added to the network.

“Our integration with VMware gives customers the ability to deploy Kaspersky Lab’s industry-leading security technology through their trusted VMware infrastructure,” said Petr Merkulov, Chief Product Officer at Kaspersky Lab. “This is only the beginning of our partnership, as we plan to develop more functionality with the VMware API, along with the ability to isolate any infected virtual machines before malware can spread across the network. Our valuable channel partners are thrilled to have an optimized virtualization solution added to their portfolio of Kaspersky Lab products. This is just the first step for Kaspersky Lab’s virtual security offerings as we expand our functionality across all popular virtualization platforms.”

Kaspersky Security for Virtualization will be launched at CeBIT in Hannover, Germany. The accompanying press conference will take place at 11.30 on Tuesday, 6 March in the Saal Berlin (Berlin Room) in the Convention Centre and will be broadcast live, and recorded for later viewing. Kaspersky Lab security experts will be available at the company’s exhibition stand (Booth C65, Hall 12) throughout the show to offer demos and answer any questions.
