OREANDA-NEWS.  February 16, 2012. Rustam Minnikhanov, President of the Republic of Tatarstan, has participated in the ceremony of launching combine harvesters test assembly at the conveyor of the Russian-Italian Joint Venture – CNH-KAMAZ Industrial BV.

The event brought together Sergio Marchionne, Chairman of Fiat Industrial and CNH Global; Franco Fusignani, President and CEO of New Holland Agriculture and CNH International; Vasil Shaykhraziev, Mayor of Naberezhnye Chelny; and Roberto Valfrй, General Manager of CNH-KAMAZ Commercial Joint Venture. The high guests were welcomed by the top managers of KAMAZ OJSC, including Sergey Kogogin, Director General of OJSC KAMAZ.

The guests were demonstrated automobile components and finished products of the enterprise. In addition to the public review of operations, the program included an official ceremony, which concluded with the signature of a Memorandum of Understanding between CNH-KAMAZ Commercial JV and the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan for the supply of tractors and combine harvesters manufactured at the Naberezhne Chelny plant.

The distinguished guests showed their interest in the products of the JV. Tatarstan focuses on the development of agriculture. Products of the CNH-KAMAZ Industrial Russian-Italian Joint Venture meet the strictest quality requirements and are generally considered to be high-technology.

It should be recalled that OJSC KAMAZ and CNH signed an agreement in 2009. This alliance was aimed at bringing CNH’s advanced technologies into the Russian Federation to support the development and modernization of its agricultural sector. After the companies had signed an agreement to set up a 50/50 joint venture to produce agricultural and construction equipment, the new plant launched its production in January 2010. It was planned to produce about 4,000 units of equipment a year, including the line-up of combine harvesters with 300 hp engines, two models of tractors with 300-535 hp engines and construction equipment. Supported by about 11,400 dealers in approximately 160 countries, Case New Holland (CNH), part of Fiat Group, is a leading producer of agricultural and construction equipment bearing the trademarks Case IH and New Holland. The equipment produced by CNH-KAMAZ Industrial will be used on the domestic market of Russia, and later it will be exported to the CIS countries.
