OREANDA-NEWS. February 20, 2012. Agencies concerned have forwarded to the President of Belarus a package of business proposals with focus on establishing the country’s united dairy company, Nadezhda Kotkovets, first deputy chief of the Ministry of Agriculture and Foodstuffs, told a news conference in Minsk.

The proposals to establish Belarus’ united dairy company were generated by regional administrations and the ministry of agriculture, the deputy minister informed.

Originally, the united dairy company was supposed to embrace producers of Brest Region and Minsk Region, Kotkovets said. However, the original approach has changed now, with each region planning to establish its own united dairy company, the vice minister said.

Before establishing the united dairy company, agencies concerned have to take care of several important matters: taxes and registration, Kotkovets said.

As previously reported, in June 2011 President Lukashenko ordered to establish a national dairy company with annual milk processing capacity of 1 million tonnes by the end of the year. The initial suggestion was to establish the dairy company as a holding or close joint-stock company.
