OREANDA-NEWS. February 20, 2012. Belarus’ ferrous rolled stock output rose 0.1% on the year in January-December 2011 to 2.457 million tonnes, an official with Belarus’ National Statistics Committee told reporters.

Steel output increased 4% on the year to 2.779 million tonnes. Standard quality wire output rose 14.5% on the year to 333,900 tonnes in the period.

Steel wire output rose 1.3% to 94,100 tonnes, and steel pipe output was up 18.7% on the year to 201,100 tonnes in the period.

Belarusian companies produced 84,000 tonnes of metal cord in the period, up 9.4% on the year.

In monetary terms, ferrous metal output in Belarus increased 4.9% on the year to 23.874 billion Belarusian rubles (Br) in 2011.
