Every Fourth Private Banking Client Uses UkrSibbank Services
OREANDA-NEWS. February 21, 2012. According to the results of the first independent “Private Banking Market Survey in Ukraine” by KPMG, one of the leading consulting companies in the world, UkrSibbank BNP Paribas Group has a 25% share in the Ukrainian private banking market. The survey initiated by the Private Banking Club examined the top 13 banks leading the way in the financial sector, reported the press-centre of UkrSibbank.
“This unique survey is the result of the joint efforts of the Private Banking Club members,” said Oleksiy Aleksandrov, Assistant Chairman of the Management Board, Head of the Private Banking Department, UkrSibbank BNP Paribas Group. “The analysis of the private banking segment should make the market more transparent and clear, attract new participants, and become a common practice for business professionals.”
According to the survey results, the financial crisis did not affect the Ukrainian Рrivate Вanking market significantly. The proportion of wealthy clients in the banks’ assets grew from 3.2 to 5.5%. The majority of Ukrainian private banking clients are business owners (44%), top managers (32%), officials (15%), and celebrities (9%). “No more than 32% of affluent clients entrust their funds to Ukrainian banks, with most preferring to take their capital abroad. This suggests broad prospects for increasing the client base. Given the unstable economic environment in Europe, increasingly more clients are going to give preference to domestic banks. According to KPMG’s forecast, the market will grow by 5-7% within the next three years. Therefore, UkrSibbank wants to increase the number of clients by 30–35% by the end of 2012,” Oleksiy Aleksandrov added.
UkrSibbank Private Banking has been operating in the private banking market of Ukraine for more than seven years. In 2006, the first offices were opened in the most promising regions of the country. Today, six private banking offices—in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Donetsk, Odesa, Lviv, and Dnipropetrovsk—have opened their doors affluent clients.
In 2011, UkrSibbank was named “Best Private Banking Services” provider in Ukraine by the reputable international business magazine Euromoney.
