Cathay Pacific Completes Upgrade of Reservations System
OREANDA-NEWS. February 21, 2012. Cathay Pacific has completed the upgrade of its new passenger reservations system as planned over the weekend, reported the press-centre of Cathay Pacific.
The changeover to new technology to replace a system introduced in the 1980s will ensure that Cathay Pacific can continue to meet passengers’ needs in the future as the airline continues to grow.
Chief Operating Officer Ivan Chu said: “The major systems are online and functioning as planned. With a system change of this magnitude, inevitably there would be some teething issues in the early stages. We will address those aggressively should they develop to minimise any inconvenience to our customers. We thank our customers for their patience. We look forward to serving them better with the new system.”
As expected, call volume at the airline’s worldwide call centres has been greater than normal resulting in longer hold times. The Cathay Pacific team is working hard to assist customers as quickly as possible. With the Manage My Booking function back online, passengers already holding reservations will find they can make desired changes via www.cathaypacific.com.
Mr Chu said: “My gratitude also to the hard work of thousands of Cathay Pacific staff who contributed to the implementation of a system designed to help us meet future passenger needs.”
