OREANDA-NEWS.  February 21, 2012. In Pilsen (Czech Republic) a seminar was held where the process and terms of supply of products for construction completion of Temelin NPP Units 3 and 4, as well as for other Russian nuclear construction projects being implemented worldwide, were explained to the largest Czech machine engineering companies.

The seminar was carried out by representatives of the consortium MIR.1200 (Skoda JS, Atomstroyexport and OKB Gidropress) which participates in the tender for construction completion of Temelin NPP. The event was attended by more than 60 managers from companies of the Czech nuclear industry.

The first part of the seminar was dedicated to qualification requirements and certification process which should be observed by the Czech companies to join the ROSATOM’s global contractors’ chain and take part in nuclear construction projects in Russia and abroad. The second part of the seminar was dedicated to sub-supplies for Temelin construction completion. The consortium representatives familiarized the seminar attendees with the progress of the bid preparation.

According to Leos Tomicek, Executive Vice President of Rusatom Overseas, the development of cooperation with the Russian nuclear industry opens huge opportunities for the Czech companies. The Czech nuclear industry is unique in terms of its development, he said. Besides, it tends to the Russian technology; therefore, it is a logical solution to broaden the cooperation in construction, production and engineering, he continued. ROSATOM has enough orders for construction of NPPs across the world and we need good quality suppliers for them, he said.

Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Manager of SKODA JS Miroslav Fiala: We go from words to deeds. Now we are dealing in detail with practical issues of the cooperation with the Czech companies in the field of sub-supplies for Temelin Units 3 and 4. Unlike competitors, the consortium MIR.1200 knows better how to work in the Czech Republic; we have cooperated for a long time with many of the companies participating in the seminar. However, the cooperation should be continuously developed. This seminar is one of the steps on the way of its development.

Vladislava Chesakova, a seminar attendee, member of the board of ZAT: The cooperation with ROSATOM opens an opportunity for us to participate not only in the construction completion of Temelin NPP, but also in other projects worldwide. Given the current economic crisis, it is the matter of a chance for the Czech enterprises which may not come up again.
