OREANDA-NEWS. February 27, 2012. Europe and Asia were the main trade partners of Uzbekistan in continental angle of view in 2011, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.

The State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said that Europe and Asia accounted about 97.5% of foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan in the reporting period.

Share of these continents in Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover decreased from 97.7% in 2010 to 97.5% in 2011.

The committee stated that share of Europe in foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan decreased from 54% in January-December 2010 to 53.5% in 2011. At the same time, the share of Asia rose from 43.7% to 44%.

In the structure of foreign trade turnover, share of American continent rose from 2.1% in 2010 to 2.3% in 2011. Share of Africa remained at the level of 0.2% and Australia and Oceania –0%.

Foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan increased by 15% year-on-year in 2011 and reached USD 537 billion. The committee noted that foreign trade turnover with the CIS countries made up USD 11 billion, and with other countries – USD 427 billion.
