OREANDA-NEWS. March 15, 2012. Wizz Air, the leading low-fare, low-cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe has announced today that its flights to Milan will now arrive into the main airport, Milan-Malpensa, instead of Milan-Bergamo. Flights will operate 11 times a week as of 18 June 2012. The airline also announced that Varna, the Black Sea holiday destination favored by Hungarian tourists, will be attended to their growing list of destinations accessible from Budapest. In addition, in order to meet higher than expected passenger demand, Wizz Air has increased the number of weekly flights to two per week on the Palma de Mallorca destination. Flights to Pisa will not be operated beyond 15 April due to low demand.

With the addition of flights to Milan-Malpensa, Wizz Air will be the one and only low-fare, low-cost airline flying from Budapest to the main Milan airport which offers convenient access to the city center via public transport.

Milan-Malpensa is connected to downtown by a high-speed rail making the journey to Milan both cheaper and faster in comparison to the Bergamo airport. As Milan-Malpensa is one of the most significant airports in Europe, the new Wizz Air flight also offers a comfortable solution to those travelling beyond Milan who want to connect with international carriers flights to North America, Asia or even the Middle East.

The latest addition to Wizz Air’s route network, the Budapest-Varna flight, will bring the popular Black Sea holiday resort close again. A highly popular holiday destination among Hungarian tourists, this hot spot for summer travel is well known for low-prices and high quality services.

Tickets can be booked online at wizzair.com or via phone at 06 90 181 181. Tickets to Milan-Malpensa are available from 5990 HUF (one-way, all-inclusive) and tickets to Varna are available from 13,190 HUF, (one-way, all-inclusive).

“We provide the best value for our passengers. The flight to Milan-Malpensa is an excellent example of this: we offer a better service for the same price. This is favorable for both Hungarian tourist travelling to Milan, but also for the incoming tourists and business travelers. With the addition of flights to Varna, the number of Wizz Air seashore destinations has increased to 15 in 2012. We have flights to Bulgaria, Turkey, Cyprus, Greece, Italy and Spain. I still think that we will carry 2.3 million passengers in our Hungarian network this year, which would mean a 70% increase of our business” – CEO of Wizz Air, Jozsef Varadi said.
