OREANDA-NEWS. March 15, 2012. The two-day International conference “Turkmenistan-Europe: prospects for cooperation” started in Berlin. The forum organized within the framework of cooperation with the European Union with assistance of the Ministry of Oil and Gas Industry and Mineral Resources of Turkmenistan and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan brought together the members of the governmental delegation of our country, who arrived in Berlin on the instructions of the President of Turkmenistan, as well as the heads and representatives of the world leading international organizations, and oil and gas companies.

Among the delegates are the representatives of the world-known companies, including Exxonmobil, Eni, CNPS, Petronas, Burried Hill, RWE Dea AG, Wintershall Holding GmbH, ITERA as well as European Commission, Energy Charter, the State Department of States (US). The heads and specialists of the oil and gas complex, chemical industry, and the Institute of Oil and Gas represent Turkmenistan in the forum.

The Turkmen President’s Address to participants of the International Conference “Turkmenistan-Europe: Prospects for Cooperation: was presented during the ceremony of opening the forum. In his address the President of Turkmenistan noted that holding of such important forum was a bright evidence of the increasing interest in Turkmenistan – one of the leading countries in the world on the volume of oil and gas resources.

During the plenary sittings on the first day of the conference, the forum participants exchanged their views on the increasing prospects of the fuel and energy complex of Turkmenistan on accelerating the process of joining to the global system of international supplies of hydrocarbon resources to the world markets as well as investment potential in this sphere.

The heads of the fuel and energy complex of Turkmenistan hold meetings with the heads of leading foreign companies within the framework of the conference. During the meetings they discuss new prospects of mutually beneficial cooperation in priority vectors of developing the oil and gas industry of the country.
