OREANDA-NEWS. May 12, 2012. On May 21, 2012, Yamal Airlines will start operating direct scheduled flights from Moscow to Gothenburg from Moscow Domodedovo Airport. The new direction, tickets for which are already on sale, is unique for the Russian air travel market - there is no other airline operating non-stop flights from the airports of the Moscow Aviation Hub between the capital of Russia and the second largest economic and tourist center in Sweden. Its proximity to Norway and Denmark is making Gothenburg a tempting starting point for the trip through Scandinavia.

The new flight will be carried out three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on the following schedule:

For the new route, Yamal Airlines will use comfortable aircraft CRJ200 of the Canadian manufacturer Bombardier. Passenger capacity of the aircraft of this type is 50 seats; CRJ200 are perfectly suited for the efficient service on this route.

Entering the new market for Yamal Airlines will not only provide a unique tourist destination, but also open up additional opportunities for transit through Domodedovo airport. Passengers from the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District, as well as from other cities covered by the geography of flights of Yamal Airlines, will be able to travel to Scandinavia with the optimal time connections at Domodedovo airport for transfer fares. In 2011, Yamal Airlines ranked 15th in passenger traffic at Domodedovo, rising by 7 positions in comparison to 2010 and increasing the number of passengers carried by 23.2%.
