OREANDA-NEWS. June 5, 2012. OJSC Verkhnechonskneftegaz (VCNG), subsidiary of TNK-BP, is going to spend 40 million rubles in 2012 for social investments in the Irkutsk Region.

TNK-BP is consistently implementing its strategy of efficient development in East Siberia closely cooperating with regional authorities. The agreement on social and economic development signed by the company and the regional government implies investments of the company into key sectors, such as research, education, and culture and support of indigenous minorities of Far North and healthcare, sport, and child welfare programs.

Earlier, VCNG became a member of the Board of Guardians at the East Siberia Division of the Russian Geographic Society. In 2012, together with other guardians, VCNG will select and finance the most interesting projects in geography, local history, and ecology.

“This year, we are celebrating the tenth anniversary of VCNG and are going to enhance our presence in the region. One of the most important factors in efficient development of our company is its constructive dialog with regional authorities. TNK-BP is interested in social and economic development of the Irkutsk Region and considers social investments as an important part of its policy as a responsible corporate citizen,” said Igor Rustamov, General Director of VCNG.
