OREANDA-NEWS. June 5, 2012. Filling station complex "OKKO" on George Washington Str., 12, in Lviv is the winner of Ukrainian contest "Institution without barriers" in the nomination "Places of the consumer market and services – filling station". Competition was held by National Assembly of Disabled in the international project UEFA "EURO-2012: Respect Inclusion – Football with No Limits" with the support of Center of access to football in Europe. Patronage competition was conducted by Parliamentary Committee of Ukraine for senior citizens, veterans and disabled and National Agency for Euro-2012. In the period from 20th of February till 30th of April the best without barriers institutions were despoiled in four cities that would host matches of the football championship – Kiev, Donetsk, Lviv and Kharkiv.

"The main goal of the contest – to create a barrier-free environment for the participation of disabled citizens in all spheres of life, along with others, in particular during the football event Euro-2012. Football as a spectacle has to be accessible to all" – note the coordinators of the project "Institution without barriers".

Recall that the filling station "OKKO" on George Washington Str. in Lviv was the first filling station in Ukraine which underwent audited accessibility for disabled and received the confirmation of compliance with accessibility requirements. Filling station has parking and bathrooms for people with disabilities, plan of sales area is made so that they can move freely. Since 2008 all highway filling stations "OKKO" were designed and constructed in accordance with accessibility requirements
