OREANDA-NEWS. June 05, 2012.   PJSC Stroytransgaz has started engineering works for the electric grid facilities of Sayano-Shushenskaya HPP. It is the company’s seventh project included in the investment program of JSC FGC UES up to 2014.

The project Client is Engineering and Construction Management Center of Siberia (ECMC of Siberia), which is a branch of JSC ECMC UES (a subsidiary of FGC UES).

STG will carry out engineering works for five large facilities for the further construction of new   500 kV Sheregesh substation, reconstruction of  500 kV Novokuznetskaya and 500 kV Kuzbasskaya substations and two power lines  - 500 kV Sayano-Shushenskaya HPP – Novokuznetskaya No1 HV line and 500 kV Sayano-Shushenskaya HPP – Novokuznetskaya No2 HV line.  The works will be chiefly implemented in the Republic of Khakassia, Kemerovo Region, and Altai Territory.

Under the contract signed on April 28, 2012, the works to be carried out by STG will cost 214.7 million RUR. The project has a tight execution schedule and is to be completed by December, 2014. In this period the company will perform a large scope of engineering survey, work out project and working documentation, and prepare for the state expert appraisal.  In particular, STG specialists will survey 300 km route of the existing power lines to be reconstructed under severe climate conditions in the northern regions.

One of the main tasks for Stroytransgaz is the technical solutions elaboration. In its design works the company will use series compensation equipment (SCE) that will be connected to the power lines and serve to increase their transmission capacity. SCE is often used in the regions with power sources located far from consumers, like in Sweden for instance.  This innovative technology will be applied in Russia for the first time.

The project execution will allow to enhance durability and transmission capacity of the power lines as well as generally increase power supply capabilities of the regions through the power delivery of Sayano-Shushenskaya HPP, which is to be completely reconstructed in 2014.  A chance to take part in such a major project is a sign of the Client’s special trust to Stroytransgaz.

Since 2010, Stroytransgaz has executed a large scope of works for FGC UES projects having provided inter alia engineering services for HV 500 kV Boguchany hydropower plant - Ozernaya substation as well as power delivery facilities of the Kalinin NPP energy block No4. Working ahead of schedule and successfully applying cutting-edge technology and equipment, STG has become one of the largest contractors of JSC FGC UES.
