OREANDA-NEWS. June 5, 2012. Belarus is ready to receive directors and experts of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to discuss the preparation of a new cooperation strategy, Belarusian First Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Semashko told reporters on Saturday.

Last year the EBRD’s transactions in Belarus reached an all time high 194 million euros.

On the eve of Semashko’s departure to London, Belarus’ Foreign Affairs Ministry issued a statement to emphasized that Belarus was opposed to mixing politics into relations with the EBRD.

Last year the EBRD would withdraw from Belarus’ power engineering project following the presidential election stalemate in Belarus in December 2010.
