OREANDA-NEWS. June 06, 2012.  On 6 June 2012, after the successful completion of the Turnaround, ORLEN Lietuva Refinery resumed production of fuels at the full planned rate. Technological improvements and new equipment will additionally increase EBITDA up to USD 20 million annually.

54 large-scope projects were implemented during the biggest Turnaround in the history of the company. Among the most important works of the Turnaround were: the installation of new and effective fuel oil Vacuum Rectification Unit cooling system, modernization of seven towers of various production Units, replacement of Catalytic Cracking Unit reactor head with cyclones. 189 new valves installed in addition will enable to perform yearly technical inspections without interruption of production. 

Altogether 450 lines were repaired; 43 lines were reconstructed; approximately one thousand valves were inspected, repaired or replaced; 26 heaters, 250 pressure vessels, 140 heat exchangers, 45 pumps and compressors were repaired.

Mr. F№fara pointed out that this Turnaround stands out with the high level of work organization, excellent communication between ORLEN Lietuva and contractors as well as exemplary team work. All the works were performed according to time schedule in a qualitative manner.

486 companies with more then 4 thousand employees were involved in the Turnaround. Together with ORLEN Lietuva employees they performed more than 1600 different tasks, 250 thousand cubic meters of scaffolding were erected and dismantled, 35 cranes were in operation.

The total budget of the Turnaround reached USD 65 million.
