OREANDA-NEWS. June 07, 2012. Xu Lejiang, chairman of  Baosteel Group  met with visiting Australian Minister for Resources, Energy and Tourism, Mr. Martin Ferguson  AM MP , and Ms. Ke Weiming, Australian Consul General in Shanghai  at Baosteel Tower. Both sides have a friendly exchange on common concerned issues. Vice President of Baosteel Group, Dai Zhihao and Director of Baosteel Resources , Li Qingyu also attended the meeting.

Mr Xu expressed warm welcome to the visit of Martin Ferguson and his party, and sincere gratitude to Australian government and relevant authorities for their strong support for Baosteel's  business development in Australia. Mr. Xu expects  Minister and Consul-General to continue to focus on and help Baosteel to carry out more extensive exchanges and cooperation in various fields in Australiaduring their term of office. Martin Ferguson, said that during recent years, Sino-Australian companies has carried out extensive cooperation in the fields of coal, iron ore, liquefied natural gas  with good momentum of development. He also welcomed Chinese enterprises, including Baosteel, to invest in Australia and establish cooperative relations with more Australian companies.

Both sides also shared frankly views on hotspot issues such as iron ore pricing mechanism  carbon emission tax, resource tax, and foreign labor policy.
