OREANDA-NEWS. June 07, 2012. Prime Minister Mykola Azarov charged to set up a commission of experts for the settlement of all the problematic issues that exist between the railways of Ukraine and Russia. The first issues to be considered by experts - is how to prevent a reduction in transit through Ukrainian ports and matching technological conditions of production at Ukrainian wagon building enterprises.

This was discussed during a meeting with Russian Railways President Vladimir Yakunin. "Set up the Expert Commission. Invite specialists of these enterprises. And let's find out all the issues," ordered the Head of Ukrainian Government.

Besides, during the meeting parties agreed on working out of proposals on cross-cutting tariffs for transit by rail and ports, which will promote increase in volumes of transit through Ukrainian ports and increasing the competitiveness of Ukrainian enterprises.

The parties also called for establishment of a single logistics management from the point of loading to the point of shipment. During the dialogue, Vladimir Yakunin asked Mykola Azarov to support an offer to introduce a unified certification system within the Railway Transport Council of CIS countries.

According to Mykola Azarov, these questions will be forwarded for discussion in the meeting of the Intergovernmental Ukrainian-Russian Committee on Economic Cooperation to be held in Donetsk on June 27.

"On June 27 in Donetsk next intergovernmental meeting takes place where to be discussed the whole range of issues: both economic and political. This is the first in more than a year and a half meeting, this is preparation for two presidents’ meeting," said Mykola Azarov.
