OREANDA-NEWS. June 8, 2012. Renaissance Capital, the leading emerging markets investment bank, has hired Ronnie Golan to head its Africa investment banking operations.

Golan, who will manage deal origination and execution across Africa, joins Renaissance from Morgan Stanley, where he worked for 15 years, most recently as head of investment banking coverage for Israel, Central and Eastern Europe and Africa.

Golan will report to John Hyman, Global Head of Investment Banking and Financing, and also manage Renaissance Capital’s London investment banking team.

Commenting on the appointment, Hyman said, “Ronnie’s emerging markets expertise is well suited for Renaissance Capital and its leading position in Africa. We look forward to continuing to grow our investment banking platform in Africa with Ronnie’s expertise.”

In 2012, Renaissance Capital was named African Investment Bank of the Year by African Banker magazine and ranked No. 1 overall (unweighted) in The Financial Mail’s Analyst of the Year awards. The Firm also took top honours in two rankings in The Banker’s Deals of the Year, for advising on Zambeef’s London IPO and Lusaka listing, and on Ecobank’s acquisition of Oceanic Bank.
