OREANDA-NEWS. June 13, 2012. Warsaw (Poland) hosted a meeting of the EuRoPol GAZ Supervisory Board. The meeting was moderated by Alexander Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee.

On behalf of the Russian party the meeting was attended by Pavel Oderov, Head of the Gazprom International Business Department and Sergey Chelpanov, Deputy Director General of Gazprom Export. The Polish party was represented by Grazyna Piotrowska-Oliwa, Chief Executive Officer and President of the PGNiG Management Board as well as by Radoslaw Dudzinski, Slawomir Hinc and Miroslaw Szkaluba, Vice Presidents of the PGNiG Management Board.

The Supervisory Board approved the 2006–2011 financial results of EuRoPol GAZ, examined the current business activities of the company and approved a number of corporate agreements.

In addition, Alexander Medvedev met with Waldemar Pawlak, Poland's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy. They considered further steps on the Russian-Polish cooperation deepening in the gas sector.
Background

Joint Stock Company EuRoPol GAZ Transit Gas Pipeline System was incorporated in September 1993. The company was set up under the Intergovernmental Agreement on the construction of a gas pipeline system for Russian gas transit through Poland and Russian gas deliveries to Poland dated August 25, 1993. Among the core businesses of EuRoPol GAZ are designing, construction and operation of the Polish section of the Yamal – Europe gas pipeline.

EuRoPol GAZ owns a 684-kilometer section of the Yamal – Europe gas pipeline in Poland.

Gazprom and PGNiG are the principal shareholders of EuRoPol GAZ.
