OREANDA-NEWS.  June 19, 2012. Ukraine is interested in increasing trade turnover with Germany. This was announced by the First vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Valeriy Khoroshkovskyi during a meeting with delegate of German Economy in Ukraine, Karin Rau.

The sides have discussed prospects for bilateral relations between Ukraine and Germany in the economic sphere. The First vice Prime Minister of Ukraine emphasized on the success of the Ukrainian-German cooperation. "The trade turnover between our countries is close to 10 billion dollars per year, and it is even when we use very few opportunities for trade and economic cooperation. We can increase this number, including by increasing the export of Ukrainian goods"- V.Horoshkovskyi said. According to him, the further implementation of joint projects in the financial, industrial, agricultural and other sectors should be the main tool to attract German investment in Ukraine.

In turn, Karin Rau noted the positive changes that have taken place in Ukraine's economy over the past two years. "German companies working in Ukraine have experienced positive results from a new tax and customs codes. As for the return of VAT, there is significant progress,"- she said. According Karin Rau through government steps aimed at improving the investment climate, German companies operating in Ukraine, could improve their economic performance.
