OREANDA-NEWS. June 19, 2012. As part of its commitment towards Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives and going beyond immediate business objectives, IDBI Bank has, during May 2012, extended relief in the form of financial assistance of Rs. 10.22 lakh to four drought affected villages allotted to the Bank under financial inclusion, in the districts of Satara, Sangli and Solapur in Maharashtra. The relief is in the form of providing drinking water and fodder for animals for a period of one month in the four villages facing severe shortage of drinking water and fodder for animals. Under the relief, IDBI Bank has already started extending assistance for fodder for animals in two villages viz. Warkute and Jhashi in Satara district. Supply of drinking water through tankers to the Phadtari village in Solapur district with IDBI Bank's aid has already begun. Further, IDBI Bank has decided to share 50 percent of the contribution of all the villagers in Bamni village in Sangli district towards obtaining fodder for animals. IDBI Bank aims to strengthen its bond with the villagers by such community development steps, which are not limited only to extension of financial products and services to the villagers.
