OREANDA-NEWS. June 21, 2012. According to the Deputy Minister of Economy, another two rounds of the negotiations are scheduled till the end of this year, in September in Chisinau and in November in Brussels. The next two rounds will be held in 2013.

„We suppose the negotiations will be completed by the end of 2013, and the ratification will last at least a year”, - Calmic said. As for risks for domestic producers provoked by Moldova's entering the free trade area, the Deputy Minister remarked, that the document would provide an opportunity to introduce diverse stimulating instruments to avoid losses in strategic areas of the domestic production, for example, restrictions on import, introduction of customs duties, anti-dumping measures, etc.

Risks associated with the market liberalization are minimal for most branches of the economy of Moldova, he emphasized. However, domestic producers have to increase production facilities and modernize production in order to make final products competitive, improve the quality of packing, ensure the production meets European standards, etc.

Producers of agricultural products in general and livestock in particular will have especially hard work to do. According to Octavian Calmic, at present, the market is being analyzed and in June a list of sensitive groups of goods will be made to protect them with applying special conditions, namely customs duties.
