OREANDA-NEWS. June 21, 2012. In June 2012 PwC Russia will serve for the third year in a row as the Knowledge Partner of the St Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF). In addition, PwC will participate in the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit as a Platinum Sponsor and Knowledge Partner. This year's APEC Summit takes place in September in Vladivostok, reported the press-centre of PwC.

For PwC, the world's largest professional services network, serving as a Knowledge Partner to the world's leading economic gatherings presents the opportunity to make a lasting intellectual contribution to these forums which can play a key role in supporting the further development of international business.

"Working as the Knowledge Partner to major international business forums, helping in shaping the agendas and in capturing and sharing the resulting dialogues, is something which we take a great deal of pride in PwC . Our active support for the St Petersburg International Economic Forum, the World Economic Forum in Davos, and the APEC Summit over many years testifies to our strong commitment to being part of the process of developing international business, as well as specifically to strengthening Russia's role in the global arena and sharing our expertise and wealth of experience with others. Our goal is to bring to the fore the most important themes and opportunities on the agenda of global business today and make sure that Russia is right at the heart of that debate,” said David Gray, Managing Partner of PwC Russia.

SPIEF 2012
As the Knowledge Partner to the St Petersburg International Economic Forum, PwC plays an active role in identifying themes for the Forum agenda, as well as hosting a Forum session including inviting expert speakers to address the topic. This year, PwC will once again host a special website, factsforinsight.forumspb.com, featuring relevant content, information, facts and analysis on key Forum topics with over 300 graphs. This represents a unique knowledge platform dedicated to providing Forum delegates the type of in-depth data and analytical resources they need to make their participation as effective as possible. Users can search the website by key Forum topics or sessions, as well as by region or industry, and download the information they need in PDF format. They can also print out statistics and diagrams for easy reference at Forum sessions or to help prepare materials on session.

PwC will also host three Knowledge and Internet Cafes in Pavilions 4, 7 and 8 at Lenexpo, the Forum site. These cafes will offer participants a convenient place to quickly access the latest Forum news and information on factsforinsight.forumspb.com. They can also print out any necessary materials and prepare for their session presentations, or simply relax and socialise with other delegates. Cafe guests will also have access to a special iPad zone.

PwC is making its knowledge contribution to the SPIEF sessions: Dennis Nally, Chairman of PwC International, and Donald Almeida, PwC Vice Chairman Clients and Markets, will take part in the official SPIEF 2012 programme. This year's PwC-led session will cover such critical themes as financial centres in emerging markets, and innovation and philanthropy in Russia.

In addition, PwC will prepare brief summaries of each Forum session, which will be available immediately after each session on the Forum website, to make information and news from the Forum available to a wide global audience.

APEC Summit 2012
In a repeat of its role last year, PwC will be the Knowledge Partner for the 2012 APEC Summit in Vladivostok. As part of this key role, PwC will conduct jointly with APEC a special survey of over 300 CEOs. This project will include 20 public interviews with CEOs representing companies across the Asia-Pacific region. During the first Summit session, PwC International Chairman Dennis Nally will present the main findings of the survey. PwC will also set up a Knowledge Cafe on the Summit grounds, where participants can learn more about the survey and watch live coverage of the Summit proceedings.

Additionally, this year PwC serves as an expert member of the transport and logistics chain working group of the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC). PwC experts are working closely with the ABAC leaders on select themes for further study of these issues.
