OREANDA-NEWS. June 20, 2012. Renaissance Capital, the leading emerging markets investment bank, has been confirmed as a Custody Service Provider (CSP) by the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE).

The CSP license issued by JSE enables Renaissance Capital to provide custody services to controlled clients for the purchase of equity and Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities securities. This license rounds out the Firm’s service offering to clients, allows it to distinguish itself from its competitors and expands on its administration capability.

In 2010, Renaissance Capital acquired BJM Securities, the brokerage business of South Africa's Barnard Jacobs Mellet (BJM) Group. In 2012, the Renaissance Capital was named African Investment Bank of the Year by African Banker magazine and ranked No. 1 overall (unweighted) and No. 2 in Administration in The Financial Mail’s Analyst of the Year awards. The Firm also took top honours in two rankings in The Banker’s Deals of the Year, for advising on Zambeef’s London IPO and Lusaka listing, and on Ecobank’s acquisition of Oceanic Bank.
