OREANDA-NEWS. June 22, 2012.  On the 22nd of June, 2012, ROSATOM and the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Ghana signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in the peaceful use of atomic energy.

The document was signed by Deputy Director General for International Cooperation of ROSATOM Nikolay Spasskiy and Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Ghana to Russia Set Koranteng.

The Memorandum provides for a number of specific areas of the cooperation, including assistance in building up the infrastructure to support nuclear power development in the Republic of Ghana.

A working group is envisaged to study potential joint projects.

As the next step, a draft framework agreement on the cooperation in the peaceful use of atomic energy will be prepared.
