OREANDA-NEWS. June 26, 2012. A delegation of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia), led by Deputy Head of FAS Russia Andrey Tsyganov, took part in a confidential session of the OECD Competition Committee devoted to Section on Competition Policy of Economic Policy Review of the Russian Federation as part of Russia’s accession to the OECD, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia. 

Andrey Tsyganov presented the latest changes in competition law and enforcement, in particular, concerning modernization of the antimonopoly law and enforcement practice, FAS’s priorities as well as increase in transparency of the activities of the Antimonopoly Service. Andrey Tsyganov also gave explanations regarding a number of issues raised by OECD Competition Committee for the Russian competition authority as part of preparing a Review of the Section on Competition Policy of Economic Policy Review of the Russian Federation.

It is assumed that the final decision whether Russian competition policy complies with OECD norms and rules will be taken at a session of OECD Competition Committee in 2013.

A decision on accession of the Russian Federation to OECD will be taken on the basis of a general Review of Economic Policy of the Russian Federation, including Russia’s policy in several key fields, particularly in the field of competition.
