OREANDA-NEWS. June 26, 2012. An international conference on liability insurance, organized by IC Allianz, opened at Moscow’s Swissotel Krasnye Holmy. The event involves leading experts of Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS), an Allianz Group company specializing in large industrial risks, top managers of IC Allianz client companies, as well as representatives of brokers and professional unions, reported the press-centre of IC Allianz.

An AGCS subdivision was launched in IC Allianz in Russia in April 2012. It deals with marine, aviation, CAR/EAR, energy, industrial, and financial risks, as well as property and liability insurance (including D&O) and risk consulting services. The major task of AGCS in Russia is to provide the best insurance solutions to corporate clients taking into account their individual demands and using international experience in the industry.

Being the leading experts in large industrial risks, AGCS representatives will speak at the conference about peculiarities of claims settlement in liability insurance and specifics of underwriting of energy and industrial risks. Special attention will be paid to issues related to liability insurance of hazardous facilities’ owners (OPO).

Commented Willy Schaugg, Director of the OJSC IC Allianz Industrial and Special Risks Insurance Center, Country Manager Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) Russia, "The liability insurance market in Russia is expected to grow fast in the coming years, with changes in legislation to support this. And with increasing globalization, the expansion of companies into growth markets and the challenges of emerging risks faced by clients and insurers alike, the industrial insurance landscape is changing worldwide — including in Russia. Our 1st Allianz Liability Insurance Conference is aimed to raise awareness for this important topic, its challenges and opportunities, and to bring to light the standards and benefits that Russian brokers and clients will soon have to familiarize themselves with. Now that AGCS has its office in Russia, the best experts will be open for industry representatives and will be able to offer a comprehensive approach to serving corporate clients, taking into account many years of experience Allianz had in various countries of the world".

The Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty brand was created in 2006 by merging the various Allianz companies operating under the Allianz Global Risks and Allianz Marine & Aviation brands into one global brand, focusing on large corporate and industrial client business, and on specialty business lines such as marine, aviation and financial lines.

In 2011, AGCS reported GPW of EUR 4.9 bn and operational profit of EUR 549 Mio.

Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty therefore operates through a network of branch offices and local insurance companies within and outside the Allianz Group who cede business to AGCS.
