OREANDA-NEWS. June 26, 2012. The State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine organised a debate under the headline ‘Building energy efficient economy: an investment in knowledge and know-how produces the best profit’. The event took place within the project ‘The European Village – Our Continent. Our Future’. SCM attended the debate and advocated investment in knowledge.

With the energy efficiency on its agenda for a long time, SCM participated in the debate titled Building energy efficient economy: an investment in knowledge and know-how produces the best profit. Organised by the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine, the debate sought to find the best way to put the country on the path to energy efficient development.

Representing SCM at the event, Director of Public Relations and Communications Natalia Yemchenko championed investment in knowledge. Presentation by Natalya Yemchenko is available on SCM's website.

"My entire experience in energy efficiency and all my discussions with the leading international experts have persuaded me that even the biggest projects cannot have any serious effect unless the mindsets at every level change.  We should alter the approach to energy saving among specialists and experts, among national and local officials and, most importantly, among consumers. No change is possible without serious consistent investment in knowledge. On the contrary, the consistent investment in knowledge will drive real and successful projects in energy efficiency," believes Natalia Yemchenko.
