OREANDA-NEWS. June 27, 2012. Gazprom Neft has agreed to grant aviation fuel for two Transaero  flights to the European Championship 2012 , from Moscow to Wroclaw and from Warsaw to Moscow. While earlier it was agreed that Gazpromneft-Aero  will provide fuel for one Transaero flight carrying Russian football fans. The total volume of fuel required for these special flights is in excess of 23 tons.

On June 8, the opening day of Euro 2012, a Boeing 737 refuelled by Gazpromneft-Aero carried over one hundred Russian fans from Moscow to Wroclaw, Poland, including players from children’s and adult football teams. The fans plan to attend matches involving the Russian national team, which will take place in both Wroclaw and Warsaw. On June 17 another special flight will carry fans back to Moscow from Warsaw.

Gazpromneft-Aero CEO Vladimir Yegorov said, “Providing fuel for Transaero’s special flights is Gazpromneft-Aero’s contribution to transporting Russian fans to the UEFA European Championship. We wish success to the Russian national team at Euro 2012 and we have the utmost faith in them.”

“We are grateful to Gazpromneft-Aero for the fact that our strategic partnership has given Transaero a chance to take Russian fans, particularly young athletes, to the European Championship, free of charge. I believe that this trip will be a real treat for the fans and that their support will help the Russian national team in their quest for success”, said Transaero CEO Olga Pleshakova.
