OREANDA-NEWS. June 27, 2012. METALLOINVEST, a leading global iron ore and HBI producer based in Russia, and Joint Stock Company Chelyabinsk Pipe-Rolling Plant (ChelPipe), intend to broaden their cooperation over the next three years. The parties have agreed to increase the delivery of flat steel products made by METALLOINVEST’s Ural Steel to ChelPipe.

METALLOINVEST will become one of the major suppliers of rolled metal for the construction of pipes that will be used to build a product pipeline from Purovsky Gas Condensate Processing Plant to Tobolsk-Neftekhim. The project is being carried out by SIBUR.

In June 2012, ChelPipe signed a three-year contract with SIBUR to deliver 170,000 tons of pipe products. Pipes with an outer three-layer  anti-corrosion polyethylene coating will be delivered in several phases throughout 2012-2014.

Nazim Efendiev, First Deputy CEO and Sales Director of METALLOINVEST commented: “We have a strategic long-term collaboration with ChelPipe. We are keen to broaden our cooperation in order to jointly implement the most complicated infrastructure projects.”

Vladimir Lobko, Commercial Director of ChelPipe, added: “Strategic cooperation with key suppliers of rolled products allows us to fulfill our commitments to consumers and to comply with the contract provisions for product quality and terms of delivery.”
