OREANDA-NEWS. August 24, 2012. Equipment for the Leningrad department of the “Enterprise for the Handling of Radioactive Waste “RosRAO” Federal State Unitary Enterprise ("Radon" CHL) has been produced by "TITANSPETSKONT" LLC that is part of the holding company's industrial group.

Specialists of "TITANSPETSKONT" LLC have finished the assembling of the first lot of reinforced concrete shielding containers intended for storing radioactive wastes. The quality of the products is confirmed by OIT certificates that are used to certify the equipment, products and technologies used for nuclear installations, radiation sources and storage facilities; the OIT certificates have been issued by "ANO Atomsertifica" certifying body. The products are intended for the "Radon" CHL.

This was the first order that the "RosRAO" enterprise has placed, but we expect the collaboration to continue. Presently negotiations are being held concerning the possible use of these containers by other processing facilities of the Enterprise for the Handling of Radioactive Waste "RosRAO" for processing and burial of radioactive wastes.

The "TITANSPETSKONT" LLC has been formed in 2006 and is a subsidiary of "TITAN-2" holding company. It mainly produces the certified reinforced concrete shielding containers for radioactive wastes, other concrete and reinforced concrete products, as well as the equipment for the stationary facilities and structures used for the radioactive wastes' storage. The company produces 3000 containers in a year. The company can ship containers by motor and railway means of transportation.

The " 'RosRAO' Enterprise for the Handling of Radioactive Waste" Federal State Unitary Enterprise is a specialized body that deals with handling of the radioactive wastes on a global scale within the country. The "RosRAO" Federal State Unitary Enterprise consists of 8 subsidiaries that manage the activities of 21 departments having their sites in different localities of the Russian Federation. The company mainly deals with the complex radioactive wastes' handling procedures, with works related to the closure of the nuclear objects' life cycle, with the utilization of nuclear submarines and of other nuclear technological ships, and with the rehabilitation of the former naval facilities.
