OREANDA-NEWS. December 10, 2012. The open joint-stock Siberian Coal Energy Company has become a laureate of the National Business Prize 'The Company of the Year'. It was announced on November 27 in Moscow at the ceremony of awarding the Prize laureates.

SUEK became the undisputed winner in the nomination 'For Modernization and Enhancing the Efficiency of the Russian Industry'. The Prize Expert Panel while summing up the results of voting pointed out that in 2012 many of SUEK's operations demonstrated outstanding performance. Specifically, Vladimir Berezovsky's team from Taldinskaya Zapadnaya-1 colliery hit the all-Russia record in coal winning by extracting 827,000 metric tons of coal in a month, which beats the previous record by almost 120,000 metric tons. Moreover, this result ranks among the top world achievements. SUEK's operations have taken 8 positions in the top ten of the most efficient mines of Russia. Furthermore, the Tugnui open-pit mine has hit several Russian and world records in a row this year. Exceptional performance was also accomplished by SUEK's operations in Khakassia, in the Primorye Territory and Khabarovsk Territory. As marked by the Expert Panel in their final report, these accomplishments arose from a well calculated strategy, thorough preparation, a grand-scale investment program of upgrading the equipment and the high professionalism of the entire team at SUEK.

The National Business Prize 'Company of the Year 2012' is sponsored by RBC Group under the auspices of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation. The Prize laureates are determined by an expert panel consisting of influential representatives of the business community, state authority and public.
