OREANDA-NEWS. December 21, 2012. Starting from mid-December Transaero Airlines’ passengers traveling in Economy and Tourist classes can take advantage of free access to video entertainment on board the aircraft equipped with Lumexis InFlight Entertainment (IFE) system.

Lumexis IFE’s fiber-optic signal is delivered directly from the head-end-unit to each screen installed to every seat. This makes the system extraordinarily lightweight. With virtually unlimited bandwidth, the system delivers high-definition video.

Each seat in Tourist and Economy classes equipped with an 8.9? touchscreen video display. Moreover, the monitors have USB-ports allowing travelers to charge their mobile phones during flights.

Lumexis entertainment content provides a passenger with a selection of the latest movies from the major Russian and world studious, classic titles, cartoons and interactive games. In total, about 100 movies and TV programs as well as several games are offered for passengers’ choice. The system’s content is constantly updated.

Transaero started to install the Lumexis IFE on board its wide-body aircraft — Boeing 777-300s and Boeing 747-400s last year. The airline is continuing to implement the installation program: in the near future the system will be fixed on several more Transaero’s Boeing 747-400 aircraft.

Currently, passengers can enjoy Lumexis IFE on the routes from Moscow to Khabarovsk, Vladivostok, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Anadyr as well as to a number of popular leisure destinations worldwide.
