OREANDA-NEWS. December 21, 2012. Transaero passed a new benchmark in its history. For the first time ever since its foundation the airline’s passenger traffic exceeded 10 million in one year.

Transaero has been committed to achieve this record since the day of its maiden flight that was made 21 years ago. The private airline which had been created from the scratch and never took part in privatization of state property always adhered to its sustainable development strategy. The airline acquired new aircraft, extended its route network and introduced state-of-the-art technologies. The airline’s performance was particularly successful in the past 10 years. Passenger traffic has increased 26-fold over this period.

One of the key strategic areas of Transaero’s activities is the development of reliable, comfortable and affordable air transportation with the Russia’s Far East. The airline operates comfortable Boeing 747-400 and Boeing 777 aircraft with large passenger capacity on these routes.

That is why it was no surprise that the 10-th million passenger of Transaero Airlines was a resident of the Far East, the Russian region where the Sun rises. Darina Arzhanova, a 23-year old resident of Vladivostok, appeared to be a jubilee passenger. On December 14, she took the UN124 flight from Vladivostok to Moscow. She was sincerely greeted at the departure airport. Transaero has upgraded her ticket and Darina was able to enjoy Imperial class service during her flight. The First Deputy General Director of Transaero Airlines Alexander Ignatov presented Darina a model of Trasaero’s aircraft and a certificate for a free return business class ticket on the Vladivostok-Moscow route.

"Transaero is my favorite airline. Transaero means comfort and personal treatment delivered to each passenger," Darina said.
