OREANDA-NEWS. December 21, 2012. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Sweden in Ukraine Stefan Gullgren has visited the new electric steel-melting complex INTERPIPE STEEL. Representatives of the Swedish Trade Council and leading Swedish companies have joined the Swedish Embassy delegation for the tour around the state-of-the-art metalllurigcal mill.

While being at the electric steel-melting complex the diplomat could see with his own eyes the high-tech metalllurigcal facility, the unique culture of production, and the contemporary art objects by Olafur Eliasson.

“I have heard a lot about this mill, but seeing it with my own eyes is a totally different thing. I am really impressed by its up-to-dateness, care about the environment, and, of course, concern for the employees. The company does everything to ensure that workers feel comfortable here, including cleanness and world-class arts, – Stefan Gullgren has commented. – I strongly believe this project will become an example of how it is possible to build the state-of-the-art environmentally friendly mill not only for Ukrainian companies, but also for the European ones”.

Other participants of the Swedish delegation have also been impressed by the unique combination of the large-scale metallurgical production and the contemporary art.

“I have visited metallurgical mill in the northern Sweden. They are totally different, more old-fashioned. This mill shows us the future of the industry. The tour around INTERPIPE STEEL have turned into one of my major impressions from the city”, – Magnus Westgren, Professor of Karolinska University in Stockholm, says.

The visit of the Swedish Ambassador Stefan Gullgren to INTERPIPE STEEL has been carried out in the framework of the days of Sweden in Dnipropetrovsk.
