OREANDA-NEWS. March 18, 2013. According to the press service of the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technologies, as a result of an amount of traffic and a number of subscribers, incomes of Moldtelecom from the sale of services of fixed telephony declined 7.1% to 1 bln. 504,5 mln. leis.

At the same time, the total sales volume of alternative operators fixed telephony grew 51% to 41.6 mln. leis. Their average revenue per user (ARPU) declined by 7.9% to 108 leis. Moldtelecom recorded ARPU of 111.4 leis (7.1% down), alternative providers recording ARPU of 51.3 leis, 0.3% up. The growth in incomes of alternative providers is explained by a greater number of users who subscribed to packages of three and more services, including fixed communications, Internet, TV and others) and by extension of these services beyond Chisinau, experts say.

According to ANRCETI, in 2012, like during the last several years, the market of fixed telephony saw the considerable declined in the traffic and income form services overlapped by slight increase in a number of the subscribers. In 2012 there were 27 operators in the market of the fixed telephony.

The major player on the market – Moldtelecom - held the income share of 97.3%. Other 26 operators ( Arax-Impex, Orange Moldova, Starnet, Sun Communications, etc) shared the portion of incomes of 2.7%.
