OREANDA-NEWS. Belarus’ state-owned Vitba confectionery (based in Vitebsk) plans to announce a tender to choose a supplier of confectionery equipment for producing hollow waffle tubes with fillings, a company representative told.

Vitba plans to spend on the new waffle equipment as much as 2 million euro.

The closing date for applications is April 19, 2013.

The new facility is expected to produce 180-200 kilos of waffles per hour.

Vitba plans to purchase the new facility and make it operational by February 1, 2014.

Established in 1989, Vitba is Belarus’ leading supplier of dry breakfast cereals and is one of the country’s five biggest confectionery makers.

Vitba manufactured 12,997 tonnes of confectionery products in 2012, up 2.6% on the year. In value terms, Vitba’s confectionery output totalled Br269.84 billion (USD 31.377 million), up 61% on year.
